The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is an EU regulation which comes into effect on 25th May 2018 and replaces the current Data Protection Act. With it comes revised changes as to how data controllers store and process data.
What does this mean for you?
When you engage in our services either via a job board, our website or by a direct application, we will take the required measures to ensure you understand how we administer your personal information throughout the recruitment process.
We will tell you our legal basis for holding your data and obtain your consent to process your personal details for work-finding services and/or marketing purposes (such as signing up to our weekly recruitment email).
The new regulations provide individuals new rights with regards to the processing of personal data. We are required to hold your data for a specified period, unless you wish to continue using our work-finding services, and we will advise you of this in our Privacy Policy. Under the right to erasure (also known as the right to be forgotten), and applicable within certain circumstances, you are entitled to withdraw your consent for us to hold your data. And the right to rectification allows you to have inaccurate personal data amended. All data subject rights are detailed in our new Privacy Policy which is sent out to candidates at the initial stages of engaging in our services.
