Lead Dental Nurse – Summertown, Oxfordshire (Fixed Term Contract)

MBR Dental are currently supporting a well-established private dental practice in Summertown, Oxfordshire to recruit a Lead Dental Nurse on a 6-month fixed term contract.

The Role

  • Full-time position: 42 hours per week
  • Contract: 6 months (fixed term)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Private practice setting offering high-quality general and cosmetic dentistry

 Working Hours

  • Monday: 8:45am – 5:45pm
  • Tuesday: 8:45am – 7:45pm
  • Wednesday & Thursday: 8:45am – 5:45pm
  • Friday: 7:45am – 4:45pm

About the Practice

The practice provides a range of treatments including:

  • General dentistry
  • Invisalign
  • Implants
  • Hygiene services

Dentally software experience is preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

As Lead Dental Nurse, you will:

  • Provide chairside support and patient care
  • Lead, mentor, and support the nursing team
  • Oversee reception duties and staff rotas
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards and audit processes
  • Manage infection control and instrument decontamination
  • Maintain equipment, stock control, and surgery readiness
  • Work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Provide occasional reception cover when required

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ Dental Nursing experience
  • GDC registered
  • Valid DBS check
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Confident in mentoring and supporting a team
